Why, I oughtta...

There are moments of motherhood that are not so glamorous.

Today Gulliver woke up from his morning nap earlier than anticipated, and he wasn't hungry when he woke up. So I stripped him down to his onesie (first mistake) and wrapped him in a blanket and brought him into the office and sat him on my lap while I worked (second mistake). Gulliver typically has a giant poo sometime in the morning or early afternoon, so I was expecting something like this, but I figured the blanket would be a good barrier between us in case some unpleasantness spilled out of the diaper. Plus, it was probably time to wash his blanket anyway.

Funny how quickly a stream of poo can squirt out of the diaper and onto your favorite pajamas, missing the blanket entirely.

I think this is part of Gulliver's secret plot to get me to shower every day. Please note this picture from yesterday.

Anyway. I just had to throw him on the bathroom floor and strip him down to start taking care of business. And once he was cleaned and fed, then I left him on my bed while I showered and did laundry. Thankfully he was happy to play the whole time I was getting ready and washing all the clothes and blanket.

Also, when I went into Gulliver's room this morning, I found the new hard drive that came in the mail yesterday. I asked Murray if I could see it this morning and he couldn't find it. That's because apparently in a drunken ambien stupor, he put it in the baby's crib last night. I believe that Murray is suffering from baby confusion.

I am so sorry about the poop. And I swear that GH must have done something similar with my missing cell phone. (Put it someplace odd in a sleeping stupor. Nothing poop-related, I hope.)

As long as he doesn't mistakenly leave Gulliver in a handbag in a train station somewhere in England, you should be okay.

Totally Toddler (available at Babies R Us) is the best for getting out baby poop. It doesn't work as well to get out set, already-laundered stains, but it is perfect for pre-treating.

And Ambien does great things. My BIL once went to Blockbuster, rented a DVD and stuffed it in his computer, all on the drug. 2 weeks later he got a call asking where the movie was, but he didn't remember renting it - and it had slipped between the slots in his computer. Oopsie!

That doesn't look like fun at all.

Although the mail in the crib is quite funny.

I can totally relate to the nighttime drunken stupor!

A few nights ago I had been up late working on a statistics project, and then when I had to go help the baby, I started explaining to her that if I just changed the survey questions, then she would stop crying.

I think I also had to sit down on the floor to keep from dropping her...very tired.

Word verif: ovasinc

Is that when you have twins?

The juxtaposition between the baby laying on the bathroom floor with a sweet disposition, and the new hard drive sitting quite contently in his crib is quite the visual treat.

Wow, he is getting to be a big boy. I think he's on track to be just as big as our Cameron. Maybe they can wrestle each other some day and see you is more tough. I'm so glad you've got a darling, healthy boy.

I hate when they surprise us with a poop bomb. Cameron always seems to do it right before our church starts at 9 a.m.

the hard drive in the crib is hilarious. here is a fun poop story for you. one sunday in the middle of sacrament meeting i got up to take noƩmie and change her diaper. somehow the angle made it so that the in-progress poop came flying out all over the front of my dress. luckily pierre was sitting on the stand with the keys, so everyone got to see me grab keys and ditch out early. i'm pretty sure God will forgive me for that one :-)
