Today at the hospital as I registered and got all my info in the system, the following unbelievable conversation happened:
Employee, pointing to my doctor's name at the top of the order for my Rhogam shot: So... This "Shelly" chick...
Me: Yes, my DOCTOR.
Employee: Right. I shouldn't have assumed it was a woman. It could be a man's name.
Me: My doctor is a woman.

Wrong on so many levels. I think I may have called her out on it instead of letting her flit around in her own ignorance and stupidity.
Where has she been for the past fifty years? Horrendous.
Whattha? Who cares if she is a girl or not -- why is she calling her "this shelly chick?"
But you should tell Shelly - she would probably think it was funny.
